Katrin Amunts speaks at closing event for 50th Anniversary of German-Canadian Research Cooperation.

On June 9th, at the closing event for the 50th Anniversary of Germany-Canada Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation, HIBALL co-director Katrin Amunts delivered a perspective on the long-standing collaboration between Research Center Jülich and McGill University that resulted in the BigBrain and HIBALL.

The event was co-hosted in Ottawa by Global Affairs Canada and the National Research Council with the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Distinguished guests in attendance included BMBF Minister Bettina Stark-Watzinger as well as Geneviève Tanguay and Mr. Achim Reinartz, co-chairs of the Canada-Germany Joint Science and Technology Cooperation Committee. The event helped reinforce the friendly relationship between Canada and Germany as well as pave the way to stronger and long-lasting STI cooperation.
